I love this person and he has recently popped the question. But everybody in our little town is coming out of the woodwork to tell me he’s no good and will just use me and I’ll regret having anything to do with him. I know he had issues when he as younger, but after a couple years in prison he says he wants to live a good and decent life. What should I do? (Meadowstream, Virginia)

You must do the hardest thing in your life and think for yourself. Is he a good person or is he scamming you and marrying him will be the worst mistake of your life? Some people redeem themselves; others get worse. Only you can decide that. But don’t worry about your bimbo friends and naysayers. How much do these SFBMs really know?
