Tough Talk

My boyfriend is a sweet tender young man, who is kind and generous to a fault, which is why I love him. He is shy and taciturn and is not very social unlike me who has many friends and an active life outside of work. He has tried to get a long and socialize with my friends, but they ignore him and mock him out to his face. What should I do TT, I want them to all get along? (Twelve Mile Pond, Louisiana)

It sounds like you have some wonderful friends. However, you must accept the fact that not everyone will get along. Your boyfriend may want to try a different tack and that would be to fight fire with fire and when your friends attack him, he can be a jerkface right back. You can help out by giving him embarrassing stories or information on these so-called friends and he can prepare snappy comebacks. You can also tell your friend that they are real dingleberries for being so mean. Use a buckshot approach.
